Well I should have it in my hands for test within the week and I will be running Destinator 3 and Oziexplorer on it.

For those running Laptops that just put them on the passengers lap, have you thought about what would happen to them in an accident.

And those who are mounting all these screens into new cars, have you looked into where the airbags are and how all this extra stuff will effect there operation.

With your laptops why use an inverter to goto 240v and then back down. I'd hate to have 240v in my cabin unless I really had to.

Why not look at something like this as it offers over voltage protection and should give you a stable output:

i know there is a lot in here but wat gps should i get 4 nav runs. dont want a lap top. and wat money should i spend

the magellans seem to be the pick of the lot, i run a Fx 324 which is great, but allot of guys also run the meridians & seem to cope so i guess it comes down to the operator.
I also have a Garmin 3 plus & it has almost as many features as the magellan but not quite as good as no maps on it

The computers are great, i've got a 10.4" touchscreen for mine but found that all the cables were a pain so i don't run it, if you can do it without cables they are great

Ive found oziexplorer to be good to use, discover aus i'm still trying to work it out proberly

fx324 isn't available anymore. Have a look on ebay as the come up on there some times

The Garmin 2006 & 2010 series were used by the top two teams, (and a fair few other highly placed teams) in this years Outback. They have a fast update response time, mapping software is available from Garmin if you want it, though most of the places we go aren't on any maps and the maps tend to slow the GPS refresh rate down. We used the Garmin 2010c in the Pajero Challenge this year as well, they are the pick of the GPS's I have used.
