He had krawlers on both front and rear on the Sunday. Guess he was waiting for them to arrive.

OK, once again an awesome comp. The coarses seemed a real good mix of tight tech, power climbs and suicidal drop offs. Brought a couple of mates who had never been before and they were simply blown away and will be back for sure.

Congats to the winners and to those heading over to kick some Seppo ass

I don't remember seeing your buggy much at all on Sunday actually. We must have been at opposite ends of the grounds the whole day. I'll take a look and see if there are some there that I've missed.

(it's easy to loose someone's rig in 700 photos)

Great weekend, can`t thank Mock enough for lending me the ro dent     Or hypo for spotting for me, he did an awsome job of it    I think we worked well together concidering it was the 1st time we have EVER done anything together other then drink

The bonus on A4 (the big one with the funny pics of pete) was farking huge  and was the first stage for me in the ro dent, the ONLY driving of it I had done was on and off the trailer  . Anyway gonads was before me but he wimped out and didn`t do the bonus, I was next up and there for the 1st to do the bonus :D I think we drove about 5mtrs on just the front wheels before landing it (its on video as I seen it, but don`t know who it was that showed me). We got -24 for that stage and only Jamie Way got better with a -28 but he had to PUSH the buggy back on its wheels after the huge drop off bonus as he didn`t land it :finger:

any reports on what actually happened at the event? What was the spectator turn out like? How did everyone go? How was the Firebug? How did Guts go in a buggy? (Ok he just answered that) Will everyone who is accepted for the world finals actually go?

1st Jamie NOway
2nd POS
3rd Sam Keck, in petes new buggy (fark its sweet, and the sound of that BB   )
4th Harley
5th OPW on 159 points
6th Us on 161 points   6th place gotta be happy with that
Didn`t look at the order after that sorry

I think all 4 of the teams that got the placings for the USA will be going  I was talking to both Dave and Sean about it over the weekend and both were more certain then not that they would go if they held on to the spots which they did.

It seemed like the stages and driving was far better on the Sunday than the Saturday.

Crowds were more than I've seen at other rounds, but still not enough to make it a big event. Especially considering it was the Australian Finals.

There was some very good driving by a number of teams that I saw. Very impressive lines and technical drives. I think whoever goes across the US will give them a run for their money.

The toilets aren't sufficient for the number of people going. Unfortunately they weren't kept in the best order throughout the event.

The shootout course was pretty insane. There was potential for someone to get hurt badly in it though if they came off the wrong side of the first big rock. I'm all for really hard lines and really technical courses, but doing it at a great height doesn't really do it for me. It is big wow factor for the crowds though, so it will probably continue. At some stage driver safetly should be considered. In saying that, I'm not saying big ledges and similar shouldn't be put into courses, but at some point the height that things are on top of needs to be considered.

Stages seem a little short in some cases. It would be nice to see slightly longer courses. This probably ties in with the previous point. I think there would be benefit in making longer courses without increasing the insanity of the obstacle each year, rather than keeping the courses ultra short but increasing the size of the obstacles and the height above ground that you do them at. Having a slightly longer stage allows for drivers to move ahead of others based on their driving skill and consistency rather than the luck of a drop off a 12 foot ledge or similar.

Overall, I think the event is growing, and it was nice to see what looked like a Channel 9 crew on site on the Sunday doing some interviews and filming some of the driving. Hopefully in the next couple of years more spectors will come and the sport might get some more major media coverage.
