GU seats into GQ

Post by coke »

I am wondering if fitting GU seats into a GQ is a straight swap. Is there any fabrication needed? I can get a full set from the wreckers here and would like to know how easy it is.

thanks

No mate there not. I was going to put GU seats in my GQ but was told by the wreckers there not a straight swap.

I ended up putting Statesman seats in mine in the end because they where very cheap.

Cheers Mick.

were the Statesman ones a direct swap? or did they also require mods?

No mate theres about 10 hours of making custom brackets and cutting and welding the new brakets to the seats.

I'm also going to get a car trimmer to take a little of the padding outside of the seats because they touch the door trims and you can't reach the contols without the door open.

Unfortanately because the floor pans are uneven on the GQs, aftermarket seats & seats from other cars are a pain in the ass to fit.

Cheers Mick.
