keep an eye on ebay for a kit.
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.

The v6 is a better fit and looking at KW & MN figures why would you want a v8

the v6 may be a better fit, but for the same price you will get a 150kw plus at the wheels 308, put it on staright gas, heaps more torque and can run a turbo 350 or 400 behind. Who wants a v6 when you can have the throb of a v8!!

toyrex why quote standard figures, we are putting these motors in highly modified vehicles.. 355 stroker could produce 250+ kw.. !

considering its not registered etc, can you justify the $4000 approx you will need to get a commodore v6 and gearbox and all adaptor plates, radiator etc to suit?? agreed the v6 is the better option being fuel injected, newer motor, but on what you have just said i cant see you having endless amounts of spare cash for the job.. if you want to do it properly and have the money, lexus v8 is what you should be striving for.. if you wanted to do it cost effectively, old holden v8's are a dime a dozen.. depends what direction you want to go.. cheers nick

had the same problem with the 22r because of the this all being at the front of the motor the fan would throw water all over the dizzy and coil, with my 308 , the coil and dizzy are behind the carby right up hard against the fire wall.. making it very hard for the water to get there... unless you completely drown the motor you can get away with most crossings , bog holes etc. i run a thermo, so no engine fan to throw water over the motor, again depends on how hard you want to go , never going to get a petrol to swim either way.. have to allow for new gearbox, manuel lux box's will never handle uprgraded motors. especially if you want to drive it hard.
rough price for my motor and turbo 350 auto, radiator and all mounts etc was $2500.. will have to allow at least this depending on how much you can do yourself.. good luck
