Vitara TJM Bullbar

Post by luxbloke »

I am in need of some information:

I have bought a bullbar for the missus' 1992 2dr Vitara - It's a TJM T13 Steel Bullbar. The problem is it doesn't have any mounting brackets

I am after anyone in the Brisbane area with a TJM T1 or T13 Bullbar that I might be able to come around and have a look at the mounts to try and replicate them.

TJM don't have any scale drawings for the brackets anymore as they are an old model that has been discontinued...

Any help or information would be greatly appriciated!!! :D

I may be mistaken here ... but I think the bar bolts on to the steel section of the stock bumper once the plastic bit is removed :?

Not sure though, but worth a look

Not Acording to the limited bit of information I have got from TJM, Apparently it's a bumper replacement type bar...

you will need to remove the plastic bumper, and then you will need to remove the steel re-informent behind the plastic cover.

there will be 4 bolts on the outside of the chassis rails, 2 each side.

you will need to make up some mounts which mount to this. you can get some 30mmx50mm, or 30mmx75mm box section, run it accross the front of the chassis rails, and weld some plate tabs on the back of the box to bolt to the chassis mounts.

then you will need to line up the bull bar, and then weld some mounting tabs/plates to line up with where the bull bar mounts are. then you will need 4 bolts to hold the bull bar to the box, and you can use the old bolts to bolt the box sec to the chassis.
