just fitted 2 new headlights today and bein smart thought i would make my own harness and run the lights through relays..
ok, ive used the old 3 point plug as reference, and run beefy wires up to relays, to switch the relays i run small dia. wire from original 3 point plug to relay, everything is earthed but, lights no go....
the spooky thing is if i plug the original harness back up everything is hunky dory, but to trip the relays i only get power from the left hand wire in the 3 point plug, this is supposed to be the earth,am i missing something????

Thanks Scott, Hi bludnut, click on the link below, it will take you to an earlier post along the same lines.
Go down the page to the second lot of diagrams and there is a diagram showing how to wire up your headlights and it doesn’t matter whether they are originally neg switched or pos switched.
Should solve your problems.
Cheers
