Radio/cd problem with engine off!!!!!! in A GQ

Post by Jimbo »

Ok i have a funny problem. With the engine on my stereo (mp3 player, 4 channel amp running 4 speakers and a 2 channel amp running a sub) is fine and sounds pretty good, when i kill the engine the stereo starts to get crackly untill its almost unbarable. It gets worse quicker if there is an electrical load ie lights on or heater fan.

Its like the battery is draining but its not as its a pretty new 720cca battery and has no trouble starting my GQ or running winch with engine off.

Any ideas!!!! This has only recently started to happen (last 2 weeks) but had this setup for 6 months.

Cheers

Jimmy

Do you have a thumping great capacitor on one or both of your amps?
