are The Pines co-ordinates for those interested in camping there with us all on Sat nite.
If any of you can collect some wood along the way, that would be good as we could be needing a BIG fire for the crowd.
Looking forward to seeing yas all.

thanks Mal, there's been such positive feedback from the article and if it helps just one women cope with the dreaded B/ Cancer and or loosing a beloved son, then that's a plus.
Don't you love the pic of Vitara from the 2000 OBC.....the 30" General tyres.....they had it on file from an article they did then!
Maybe you can come along to the Stockton nav exercise.......keep a look out for when.

Everything is ready......are you??? Have you switched your gps on yet and checked how to enter co-ordinates????
Just a quick reminder......for those coming up Sat arvo to camp and then do the course on Sun.....
please collect a bit of firewood for the camp fire along the way.....there are quite a few loging areas where there's plenty of stuff lying around.
Also remember that if you are camping at The Pines you will need enough fuel to get you back to the start at the Wyong picnic spot Sun morning and then do the morning and afternoon courses and then to exit the Watagans ......so please make sure you have enough.
Looking foward to welcoming you all and having fun.
Cheers,
Celia & Eugene

Hello people, we are getting word that some navsters are planning to rock up without letting us know first.......
That isn't going to help with printing enough co-ordinate sheets for the morning and arvo session......for Sat and then again on Sunday .......so if you haven't told us yet please do.
Hope we print enough?!
Also Sat still has lots of room.
See ya all there,
Celia & Eugene

Hi Alan,
From Sydney head on the F1 towards Newcastle, leave freeway at The Tuggerah Interchange/Wyong exit offramp.
Turn left at end of offramp/exit and follow road heading north, it runs parallel to Freeway, approx 4 or 5k's you reach sharp left hand bend and that's where the carpark entrance is on the right to Picnic area. Your gps co-ordinates should confirm you've arrived too.
We'll be on channel UHF 16.......and be waiting to welcome u.
Cheers,
Celia & Eugene

Hey Jamie,
Shall I make u feel real bad and say we changed the dates cos they clashed with We Rock and you were competing.....
naaaaaa I won't.....
totally understand....and maybe u'll have a chance to make the Sand one at Stockton.
Stay tuned.......will post info on Outerlimits soon.
All depends how this exercise turns out and if people continue to show interest to practice.
Like I've said....there are some great comps which need gps skills, especially Rudi's Navruns.....so think about how much more fun is waiting once you gain some experience.
Cheers,
Celia & Eugene

yeah d/bikers do travel fast around them parts but mostly on their own little tracks they've criscross thru the forest....
We'll be taking main routes a lot of the time or easy ones that aren't any interest to bikers or 4wheelers.
Still have to see a horsie other than at the Dooralong Lodge area.
We hope everyone will be taking it nice and easy as it's not a race/comp.....and be aware of polite user friendly behaviour. Good idea to have your headlights on and if you come across anyone point out that a navigation exercise is in progress and others may be following.
Thanks Mal......
cheers,
Celia

Thanks Celia and Eugene for a great Saturday night and Sunday. It was great to get out and test our nav skills and learn a bit more about our gear in preparation for a nav run (hopefully!).
I really appreciate the effort you guys went to in organising the weekend, it was awesome to see other people out in stock cars with handheld GPS's doing it and doing it very well! Best thing was the nav and the tracks were at a level that was very driveable for the stock cars, but on occasion made you think about where you had to go too. Everyone was very friendly and it was cool to sit around the campfire on Saturday night with everyone there and have a few yarns and a few laughs.
I'm definately in again for next one! Well done guys.
Cheers, PB

Thanks very much Celia and Eugene for setting up the exercise. We gained a lot more confidence in using the gps and will be definitely in for the next exercise. Driving and navigating duties will swap next time so we will both be proficient in using gps navigation. Thanks again.

Hey peoples......so good to know our idea seems to have done the trick...everyone said they learnt heaps and really enjoyed the exercise and are keen now to do more and some have already decided to run similar type trips with their respective clubs....that's fantastic!
We must congratulate you all for giving it a go. Some had "very" basic units, yet never gave up....and even if they did get lost a few times they had a laugh about it.....and kept going.
The atmosphere was great too, as everyone exchanged experiences together at the lunch stop and finish. Some chose to camp over night on Sat so had the opportunity to be social and have a yarn with fellow 4wders too.
Thankfully a little light rain only fell around 4 when we set up camp but cleared for a star filled night. Thanks to Fred, we had a good supply of wood perfectly cut and a roaring fire to enjoy.
We really enjoyed putting it together and seeing everyone getting such a kick out of doing it.....We feel the spinoffs as a result will pay off too and people will get into taking it further and giving comps like Rudi's Navruns a go.
We got to meet some great people and thank you all for your donation to "Drive4Life" Northcott Cripple Childrens Assoc...... your wheels will certainly help provide for their wheels.
IF anyone is interested and couldn't make it this past weekend , then we are more than willing to run it again in the next month or two....BUT only on a Sunday.
The Stockton Beach one will be on FOR SURE and Mid Nov is prob the go.
So keep a lookout.
Thanks once again to you all.....
Cheers,
Celia & Eugene

Hey Celia
Many thanks to you and Eugene for your efforts, Shane and I had a great w/end polishing our skills, Sat nite was great to meet a few new people, and catch up with some old friends. Looking forward to Stockton, and would encourage anyone interested in learning how to use thier GPS to come along and have a go, even if your only learning theres sure to be someone here to help out with advice. These exercises are good for those that know what to do as well as begineers. Anyway thanks again, and lets hope Rudi and Hobzee bring some action North.
P.S Thanks for Whitemans Eugene done it in 30 mins unlocked.
