Running an OBA setup including accumulation tank soon; and want to run pressure above 100psi for quicker tyre inflation, but want to run 100psi max to locker.
What is the part i need to regulate the 100psi to the locker from the tank and how does it switch on/off?
Couldn't see what it was in the bible and searched other threads aswell
I know i need like a 150 on 180 off cut out switch to run the main pressure
why not just get a cut off switch at 100psi? most air tools shoult have more the 90psi through them anyway, and an extra 50psi in your tank for tyres isnt gonna make a huge difference unless you have a big tank
its called a regulator :)
it wont turn the compressor off just limit the pressure to the locker at the pressure you've set.
so you'll need two regulators.
one inline to the tank from compressor with the power switch in it to turn on and off the power to the compressor.
one inline from tank to airlocker.
muppet_man is right tho. you wont want more than 100 psi anyway especially if your running air tools off it.
your better off using one regulator set at 100psi with a faster compressor.
95 ltr/min on ebays for under $100
If you do buy a regulator - buy a good one.
SMC have nice little in-line jobbies, about $50.
Good quality locking rings, accurate and they don't leak!
While you're there, pick-up some other bits like push-in T-pieces, gauges etc and see if you can get some spare line.
You'll need a gauge to set the regulator but once done you can remove it to use on something else, like the tank? This where T-piece's (and other spare bits) are good - set pressure with gauge on the outbound line, before locker solenoid. Gauge can easily be removed, line fed direct to reg / solenoid valve. Saves dickin' around with the additional outlet on the regulator.
Wrong
I have my answer it is a regulator; but apparently the extra 80psi won't make enough of a difference to warrant running a on150/off180psi pressure switch to the tank and then a 100psi regulator just for the locker.
