Evening, these crap rules right, fair enough bodgy work needs to be looked at but what about the guys that spend the time and money on there rigs to ensure they are safe and reliable for there own peace of mind. I did have big plans for my mq shorty, already got a 400hp chev in it ready to play. sounds like i mite rip my plates off throw them at the prick at vic roads and just get plant, or rec reg. F#@$'EM

You may think its safe and reliable. The proof is in the Engineers report.

We all pay it. I think its a fair system. Someone has to have their nuts on the line...........

My patrol has engineers cerificate for the eng conversion, worried about suspension though. Cops down here will go through everyone when they find out about the changes in laws. Any ideas on what I can do with my suspension will be greatly appreciated

If your car is engineered by an APPROVED engineer who is still on the Vicroads list of approved engineers you should be fine.

This recall applied to vehicles signed off by engineers who have been de registered.

Anyone know... are the "approved engineers" generally engineers or are they mechanics with some extra tickets?

Just something I've always wondered about. Like, would you actually have to be a mechanic first or could you get into it more directly from a uni degree.

pretty sure they have to be engineers (uni degree/ tafe degree type) as they have to do all the maths and formulas to work out chassis mods etc. I may be wrong.

They are mechanical engineers. Not excactly sure on the process of becoming an accredited signatory is though.

We just got a patrol fitted with vh45 4 inch lift and my Hilux all coiled up with no problems.
Fully engineered..
Drove into vic roads and all good!
If you follow the rules you got nothing to worry about.
Talk about somthing else.
It's not vic roads you have to worry about it"s your insurance company

Dazz you are right, You still can get some serious stuff engineered, but the days of 35's are no longer 33's are the max tire size!!!! just put your 35's on when you are heading for the bush...... and dont attract attention to your self. Just get a good engineer who will work with you, not against... and get every thing done properly. just my 2cents :)

i really hope this isn't going to hit every state, because there will be alot of p@#$ed off people, i agree, that we all should have road worthy rigs, but thats what engineers are for, i know there some bodgy engineers out there, but they will have to do something better then this, WHAT A JOKE
