check RCA leads a each end and make sure then are not touching metal that can make that sound

also sound filter might have burnt out cheaper cd players have the filter bulit in with the wire how to fix that would be goto autobanr repco super cheap and pick up a sound filter and install it as what it says on the packet
or just get a new cd player there pretty checp these days and so many diffrent types

but check ya RCA's first

cheers justin

i finally fix the problem.. and a costly one at that. its the rca connecton on both the cd player and amp.. plus also fried a few wires behind the dash.. so now up for new amp and cd player..... so lesson to be learnt make sure got extended warrentry since mine out by 2 days now gotta pay for it all.... plus make sure all wiring is done well.

sounds like you have blown the ground track on the pcb for the rca's. if its a pioneer deck i can have a look at it for ya, amps are pretty easy to fix, what brand/model? most power supply fets (IRFZ44) and output transistors are readily available and cheap enough.

Sounds like your amp wasn't earthed properly so it used your RCA's for the earth.
Make sure you check your amp earth
