Anyone know bout these Davis Craig slimline thrmos???
How much?
And where to get them. {melb}

Do they work as good as the wider ones.?

They're slim

They are meant to be ok.. What is it going to be used for?

Supercheap and Autopro can get them in for you.

au ford fans are the go, for GQ's, have a look at e-bay, most of them are twin thermos

not sure to take clutch fan off and run AU twin fans.
OR
keep clutch fan and slid a slimline between radatior and intercooler

I am no expert but running dual fans in series like that would cause cavitation since they don't run at the same speeds.

Correct me if i am wrong

No reason to run at same speed, aslong as air flows the one way.

If you run the AU fans, it should be sufficient for your rad and intercooler

You're virtually thinking of a push-pull fan system for your radiator.. it can work well, but can often work badly.

Are you having overheating problems when crawling?

No not really, but am finding radator is getting blocked by mud.

Thats pretty much the prob.

Got an MQ which has nothing cooling the motor, besides 1 12'' thormo.

and it only gets turned on in heavy traffic.

I really shocked in the difference between my MQ and my GQ.

MQ would go throw mud and day and all night not ever one problem.

GQ been in mud say little as posably...... and ive had to do f/diff seal, r/h hub seal, starter motor, altanator, and now radator getting full of mud corsing heat prob.

2 rigs pretty simlure, yet so differant.

Do you use the MQ thermo when in the mud?

That could be an issue.. the GQ clutch fan may be on when in mud.. therefore pulling mud through the radiator.. just a thought

Yep, fans and fan clutches dont like being treated like a propeller in water. It buggers the oil in them and the seal. Ive buggered 2 like that. Now I just run an electric fan flat out. Just turn it on when the temp gauge gets near 1/2 then it goes back to normal.

So go buy some thermo's and put em on a switch like your MQ and use them when you need them.. thats what im thinking of doing at the moment also

I hhave the electric thermo out of my vp comodore sitting in the garage. It seemed to pull a lot of air. Any1 know if i trim all the extra plastic off if it will fit on my gq? I'm actually considering running a much bigger thermo where the a/c thermo is.
Anyone done this?

Just werever possible, try and put fans that draw air through your radiator. Whenever you try and push air through a radiator it doesnt work at all well. Think of it like threading cotton thru your radiator, you can easily pull it through, but try and push it and it gets bunched up and wont go straight thru, same as air.
