Widest tyre 31 on 15" rim

Post by Aerenandmel »

of all the brands what's the widest tyre you guys have come across in a 31xr15. A bit wider than 10.5 on a 8" rim would be better at low preasures to reduce chance of rolling tyres off the rim wouldnt it? or does this really only apply to taller tyres wich have taller side walls.

u can get 12s in 31 i think but it depends on ur rim width also it dont really matter obviously the taller the side wall the more prone to bead roll it is so the side wall yes but i dont see how the width (provided u have wide enuff or thin enuff rims) would matter a whole heap

I know Kuhmo did a 31x11.5x15 MT. That's because thats an optional Jeep size, so I'd assume a few others make them as well.

I had a look on a few tyre web sites, but found nothing bigger than 10.5....u can put a 33x12.5 on a 8" rim so a 31x12.5 should be allright I guess.... would bag nicely

Confirmed Kuhmo, Hankook have 31x11x15 size in australia. You'll have to hunt around for others selling it.

You might be better off in 16" rim as there are more width options in 16".

The standard 15" stuff is almost all 75% aspect so you can't got wider without taller.

Hits on size dont mean AUSTRALIAN availability. While we know these are out there that doesnt mean you can buy them off the shelf here.

So wheres the links??? maybe possible to get a special ordered set through the local tyre dealer, if he's friendly enough with the wholesaler, and in that 2 seconds you could confirm for him that all those tyres come in larger sizes than 10.5 wide

One of the dealers in Esperance used to sell BFG Muds (& AT) in 31x12.5x15 - he has since closed shop. Good for down here in the sand. Mates workshop currently has a nissan in it with these tyres on a 15x 10 rim

I love how people biatch..... but dont do anything to help themselves. You just spent more time doing that than doing this:

http://www.kumho.com.au/showtyre.pip?id=83

http://www.hankooktyre.com.au/eng/produ ... uv&id=1176

http://www.hankooktyre.com.au/eng/produ ... uv&id=1102

As for the others, ask your local dealer or someone like Ryano. Some sizes are not common fitment here in aus so you'll need to special order....
