I know All pro offroad and Sky make them in the states but im having some difficulty getting help from them. Can you get these units or something similar in Australia? I kind of need it ASAP.

That engineering mob in Queensland do them for around the $500 mark. I just can`t remember their bloody name ATM :roll:

Hey Ben, the one i had on my old luxy was from Sky, it was no hassles to get here, but i think it worked out about the 600mark landed, but that was be any1 in OZ was making them.

Yeah they are going for $195US both from sky and all pro, all pro said shipping would be $180 US :shock: most of them use fedex which charge out the arse...

Ill have a look at the superior one, sounds like the best option, thanks.

That works out to about $470 australian if i worked it out right so if you can get it for $500 from superior it might be better going that way. I bought fuel injection from the states and it took nearly 3 months to get it, it came over on a boat which is the cheap freight and then customs held it for a while and checked it out but if you get it sent over by air freight it will only take a couple of weeks but costs nearly 3 times more. Just my 2 cents.

Its actually $595 from superior, and ill have to get it shipped from qld, probably only another $20 or so. I got gears shipped from the states for about $160 US took only a week or so, and they would weigh a tad more than the tcase brake set up id assume. Most places over there use Fedex or DHL etc, but you can arrange for them to use USPS and its quite a bit cheaper.

Customs will only hold your goods if the total value including shipping is over $1000 AUS, otherwise it will be let through. I had this same problem when i got the gears.

hmmm never had a prob with customs until i got the gears, thats what i was told by them, prevously stuff just came through no worries...

Doesn't anybody think about supporting the local guy? Why go to the effort and risk of importing when the same gear is available in Australia, from an Australian owned company employing Australians.

Why? if Australian companies want the business they need to be competitive, thats business... Businesses are in it to make money, customers are trying to save money, thats how it works :roll: Its superiors choice to up the price, after talking with them they make their own set up so there is no real reason why they have to be more expensive than the ones in the states.

I ended up buying the superior one cos i need it this week, if could of waited i would of got the sky one, youd be stupid not to unless you like giving money away.

Why not use a trailer mechanicaly operated disc brake caliper? Would be easy enough to rig up.

Or even just run your park brake cable to your foot brake for a 4 wheel park brake?

It's in all of our best interests to support the local 4wd industry!

what happens when it breaks, fails or your recive the wrong part. you pay the $170us in freight both ways to fix problem.

superior are called superior for a reason. there workmanship is superior. there gear is superior. and perhapse if people didnt keep buying stuff that is made in the states when its made here and made just as well if not better for a slightly higher price, perhapse mick and the boys at superior could afford to make the products cheaper.

this not only employs aussies but makes our industry stronger

So it doesn't matter if superior imports it from all pro, but when I go to import it myself I am an ass. What ever I personally will import any product if the cost saving is worth it, eg 20% plus saving.

That's fine Bubs. :cool: It wasn't meant to be a personal comment to anyone. I've imported various 4wd components from USA in the past but I now have a different perspective on the matter. If there's only 10-20% in it, I'll go with the Aussie guy every time. It's just so much easier! And at least you know where to go for any extra tech advice or warranty issues.

Bolt on 30 mins they say, it uses the tcase bolts and connects to the factory handbrake assembly.

You could make something out of gokart discs and calipers, im just over fabricating at the moent and want a quick fix.
