hey bogan hows things ??
hows the misses uni going ??
the low pressure (in tank) fuel pump are comment to break down in the carby models 4.2 & 3.0
bogan ask your mate does it happen while driving uphills
even a slight rise will be enuf also while under light to medium throttle will do it also. at times
may sound funny but thay will even play up while parked nose uphill & left to idle for just 3-5 min
the pump sell for $130.00 genuine (trade)
if no to all above - he may have a carby freezing problem
witch would happen while driving when engines still cold or constant freeway speeds due the the heat elament under the carby base (honeycome type unit) that heats the intake charge and stove pipe can be a factor
pm sent with more info
