SUPERVISION HID CONVERSION KITS

Post by Gutless »

I don't usually say my piece about other peoples products, but in this instance I believe it is necessary.

I purchased a HID kit from Phil ( his ad is in the misc- 4 sale on this forum) on friday, and the kit arrived today.(monday)

I was pleased with the prompt service, and the high quality product. The packaging is fantasic, and the instructions are very clear.

It took me a little under an hour to fit the kit, including running all the wires etc( of which there are very few).

And then I turned the lights on.

OH MY GOD!!!!

THIS KIT IS UNREAL!!!! You get the cleanest, most crisp white light imaginable! Even though i have the crappy factory sierra head light assemblies, they still project further, wider and are so intense its like having a short range light force spottie as a headlight....I $hit you not.

If you aren't happy with your headlights, or if you are considering buying some spotties for the odd occasion you need to flick the high beams on, you HAVE to have a look at this kit!

Like I said, I don't usually plug products in this manner, and I have no stake in his product, nor do I get any moneys by saying all this.

I'm ordering a kit for both my other zooks, and my brother will be buying a few sets for his bike and GT forrester.

Thanks again Phil

My 2 cents.

Sound sweet :D
Not many details on the site in regard to wattage, color and bulb type though ... Am thinking of a H1 kit to convert my Hella 4000's to HID.

cost is 350 for hi and low,. it in the for sale section.

I was wondering how it went with the negitive switching on the zook. did you have to change it or adapt the wiring???

and you used just stock h4 light reflectors??

th kit is standard 35w and in any colour of your choice, i mostly sell 6000 and 8000k, sorry the site is still under fine tunning.

its $350 for the h4 hi/low (both high and low beams)
and $250 for other bulb types, we just sold out on the h3 guys, if u are interested put an order now, the next shippment is due in 2 weeks time. many 4x4 owners are converting their spotties to HID so h3's sell pretty quick, i just stock up on my h1 and have 20 advaliable.

There is a control module that takes care of all the switching. All you do is fit the bulbs, mount the ballasts, and then plug the bulbs into the ballasts, then you mount 2 earth wires to a good ground, hook up power direct from the battery, and then plug the old headlight plug (the one that used to plug into your bulb) into the connector, and thats it!

They have a magnetic switch between high and low, so you can hear the bulb dip when you switch to high beam.

I'm gonna give the industrial kit a go next I reckon.

gutless i hope ur not using them on the streets LOL

the industrial ones are 24v 55w, im not so sure about the 12v 42w, they would have to draw more current running lower voltage.

all i can say is the industrial ones are design for LARGE trucks, mining dump trucks, tractors and trains. with a cost price of $700-800 per kit i dont think i can make reasonable sales and afford to carry stock! :?

For some spottlights. At $800 for a kit of 2, its miles cheaper than 2 lightforce HID lamps :D

Dude you may love em in you headlights .. but I frequently want to ram a$$holes that have superbright headlights as an oncomming driver..

Sure you can see great, but the other driver can't see anything..

Put em in your driving lights and blaze away .. keep the mega bright globes out of you headlights :!:

Unlike other road users ( much like the ones you are refering to) I actually make sure that my lights are adjusted correctly.

On that same note, would you suggest that for the odd occassion you see an oncoming motorist with his or her high beams on unnecessarily, wether it be by accident or not; should not have high beams fitted to their vehicle because they are bright??

Unfortunately it is left to the operator of a vehicle to make sure they don't cause situations that may be unsafe to other motorists.

If you don't have the brain power to adjust your lights correctly then yes, I agree.....don't fit these bulbs. ( not directed at you love_mud, just a generalised comment)

ppl tend to stare at these lights since they look different, i use to have this problem before i got my hid's.

i tend to sell only the 35w since i cater mainly for the street use only, its bright enough as they are without burnig ppl eyes out. for the 24v 55w, its 800 cost price, ull be looking at around $1000 retail. this is something that out of my league.

personal manufracturers dont like the 42w and 55w, they ballast simply have reliability issues, and are too dam expensive. im looking into getting hid spotties in the future.
