Does anyone know where I could get some software suited to designing vehicle suspensions?
Something that'll do travel models etc. If I can get something off the net, that would be great, will give me something to do while I floating around the southern ocean on the way home.Have over three weeks to kill, and no internet or TV to keep me amused.
I only know of Adams, Visual Nastran etc. general kinematics packages. They will analyse any type of suspension system that you input. They will not produce a design from simple input parameters. They also cost $$$$$.
SoildWorks is the program your after it allows 3d modeling and has some load vectoring add ons to help with strength of metal to be used. But its expensive so you may have to find a pirate who can help you out.
Cuz, I know a few people in circuit racing who are using a suspension program sold here in Oz by Bevan Young.
Here is the link. http://www.bevenyoung.com.au/suswin.htm Regards Andrew.
