80 series echaust noise

Post by Monty »

i have a 4.5 litre 80 series and when giving it some from about 3000rpm i start to get a whistle sound out of my exhaust. The sound is identical to that of every tarago you hear going up a hill.

Just wondering if other people have experienced this and if they took the third muffler out did this fix it?

In my experience it makes it worse.

i believe the whistle is caused from sumthing in the pipe, ie splatter from a weld or similar.

Gday
Where the two engine pipes go into one behind the front wheel, get that section cut out and a y section put in....you will notice a big improvement, and you wont believe how the motor managed to rev past 1500rpm.....

mine does it too buddy! I got a better muffler fitted today, it's to loud to hear the whistle now!

I was going to remove the rear resonator but started the engine after the new muffler went in and deciced that without the rear resonator it would be far to loud!

when are we going for a wheel again??
