I used to average about 350-380kms (around town) and about 450kms (on the highway) out of the 60l tank.......and get about the same now with the Lexus V8 under the bonnet.

Before I spun a main bearing I was doing mostly highway driving. I was getting from 11.3 l/100km (lowest) to 13.5 l/100km with my RV6 1995 model on higway driving, and up to about 15-16 l/100km with city driving. Though it needs to be noted that I live in the bush, Bathurst, so it was very rare that i did any start-stop city driving.

I get 430k out of 60l. Or 13.95litre per 100k around town.

Not much worse than the 4litre falcon I used to have ;)

I figure I get about 325k out of 60l off road or 18.46litre per 100k.

I just had the secondary ignition system replaced and gained heaps more power and probably better economy.

I get similar figures on petrol, maybe a bit heavier. You can save a lot of fuel of fuel by driving smarter (I think Struth does to get his figures) but I travel with weight and the roof basket plus I use the revs of the motor.

On LPG I am a bit worse as you use a bit more but it costs a half/third the price. I only get low 300’s out of 60litres of gas around town.
Try to keep at least one wheel on the ground at all times !!!!!! (unless you want to do a jump....... thats different)

Yep around town with no load I hardly ever exceed 3000rpm. Only for hill starts really.

Most of the time I operate around 2500rpm between gear changes.
It's not because I can't afford the fuel, I just like to make my motors last longer and sweeter for when I need the revs.

Cheers Struth.
