GU no headlights !!!
Moderator: -Scott-
GU no headlights !!!
My GU td42t headlights will not work on high or low. No fuses blown. Checked wiring diagram thinking there might be a relay but does'nt look like there is one. The high beam symbol on the dash and the driving lights will not go out when lights switched on. Dissasembled light switch but could not really see anything wrong. Disconnected power to driving light relay still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Al.
i would think there would be some relay in there, haven't seen many cars without a light relay (headlights draw a fair amount of current, with no relay full load current goes through entire circuit, including headlight switch). suggest checking wiring diagram, sometimes have obscure refereence to where components are located.
most likely if no fuses are blown, and globes actaully work (test with couple of wires off battery) id that the relay is open circuited, ie buggered. hopefully a fellow GU owner can post up where to find relay to help
if you have a multimeter i suggest you test some critical points in the headlight circuit, including the actual headlight globes and headlight switch. also relay if you can find it.
good luck and hope you find the problem
cheers
