Brakes are larger on the TI?

AS the title says, are the brakes larger on a TI than the base models?

Want to change the 16" factory alloys from the ti - too 15" steelies as long as they fit over the brakes.

only want to fit 33's on, will they fit ok on the std alloys if the brakes are too big?

pretty sure only 4.8L petties have the big brakes

i think it is only the rears that are different due to the handbrake being in the rear disc's of the 4.8l patrols. pads are the same in the front as far as i'm aware

I would suggest it has the bigger discs... but apparently Turps ran 15's on his bigger brakes.

No he didn't never got around to buying them. I was waiting for you to fit yours and test them for me. But you where a slacker

I think they do fit. But surely you know some that has 15" rims on either a toyota or nissan. Cos there the same stud pattern so easy to test.

Did the GU's come with the twin piston front brakes. If they do I know a couple of them with 15"rims. Both in steel and alloy (and the alloy is really thick).

So Hayden i guess your answer is Yes Ti brakes are larger in the case of GU and No in the case of GQ.
Not sure about GU(III) though...

Didnt some of the newer gq's run 4 pot cailpers on the front?

I have a ST GQ 92 with the twin piston calipers and 15x8 cruiser offset will fit (just)

nope .. twin piston was teh most they got.

Thanks for all the replys, and dan for putting in info that i shoulda in the 1st place.

I will be boaring a mates wheels anyway, was just checking if anyone actually does.

i rpefer the steel sunys, may get them in a 16 instead.

They do fit have 15" sunrasia on our 94 Ti

Only 4.2efi GQ's have the larger twin spot calipers on the front the rear caliper size is all the same. 15" rims do fit (brand pending)over the larger calipers but there is a very small gap between the rim and caliper.
