Instead of measuring the overall height of the vehicle, measure from the centre of the hub to the bottom of the wheel arch. Stock standard they were 19" front and 18" rear.

As far as I know mine's stock. 20.5" from centre of hub to bottom of wheel arch front, and 19.5" rear.

Just measured my 89 HJ60, still on origonal stock standard toyota springs.

480 rear (18.9")
515 front (20.3")

mine has probably sagged a bit but my shackle angles are still pretty good so it hasnt sagged an inch or anything. So a good estimate of origonal stock standard would be about 19.5" rear, 20.5" front.

Sixty's Guy, where did you get your stock standard spec's from? I know for a fact that my vehicle has the origonal springs fitted, and they have never been re-set, and it is sitting higher than the spec's you quote.

I got that off IH8Mud. It also matches mine as with new OME springs fitted I had 21" front and 20" rear. I did measure before with stock springs, but wouldn't know where that bit of paper is now!

bit of a grave dig

sixty's guy, does your car have flares, cause that could explain the mismatch in our measurements.

No flares. Not sure how the figures are out. After my OME lift they were defientely 21" front and 20" rear. Although to clarify the rear springs were reset 2" higher. I wish I had kept that bit of paper with my original measurements.

Hey Shadow, I have an article out of an old Overlander magazine which was a review for a TJM suspension kit. I know they list some measurements in that (standard and 2" lift). I think they were the bumpstop clearance. I'll dig it out.
