MQ steering wheel upgrade

Post by Boxhead »

I am wanting to fit a non standard wheel to my MQ, what type of wheel and adapter kits fit this aplication. I want to fit a wheel that is smaller in diameter to give me abit more leg room as i fitted a seat out of a early model Pathfinder and it is a little bit thicker in the seat.

From memory Kingy (V8Patrol) had one with a boss kit for sale recently... I believe it was an Autotechnica (sp?), the kind they sell at Supercheap Auto.

PITA about the legroom, I'd be worried that a smaller wheel would be harder to turn, unless you're running power-steering, that is.

Pulsar SSS from early 90's fits GQ's and Navara's. So worth a try for the MK.
Also if you fit a nissan wheel, you want need any boss kits. But if you want to run one and a GQ one fits I got one here with a sports wheel that I dont need.

I just removed my autotechnica/and boss kit from the GQ as it was a bit small where I couldn't see all of the instrument cluster.

The standard wheel is like driving the Queen Mary but it is a comfortable driving position. I really need something inbetween the sports wheel and the standard.

So does anyone know the dimensions of a Pulsar wheel, SSS that would fit. Looking for a padded wheel, black, no metal rims, smaller than a standard...bigger than a sports...

Ive got a aftermarket boss and wheel on my MK (got it from repco). it is great to drive with off road (and on road for that matter) but i cant see the speedo at all!!! The rev counter is partially blocked but you can see well enough. I think my wheel is a 10" i have a picture if you want me to send it to you?
