Short introduction of german Ferozas and Rockys

Post by Kerstin »

Hi Folks,

I just want to show you a few impressions of some of our meetings in Germany.
I chose pics where you can see most of us, even though we don´t seem to be very active in driving......but we are!!! :D

This is my Feroza, normally it is dark blue ;) :

It indeed is a discussion about lockers in our forum, but they seem to be very expensive, and I know only one who has some.

I can ask around who has any adress for lockers for the Rocky and i could post it here.

Yep!

Old cars still have them but newer cars are not allowed anymore or it is in discussion to forbid them....tooo dangerous.
And since we have not a lot of running bulls on the roads or kangaroos or elephants or whatever, it looks like they will be dissapeared some day.

It really is fun!
Especially when we drive in a convoi to the places we meet the others.

Since Germany isn´t that big we use our possibilties to see each other quite often because most of us are really good friends meanwhile.
The longest distance I drove was about 800 km, and this was FAR! :D

Of course not in your dimensions....but the way back my clutch was broken....awful, I can tell ya, our roads usually are crowded!

But I was accompanied by two other ferozas and two rocky as my personal guard, was a good feeling not to be left alone.

Usually we have one main meeting in summer, meanwhile we startet a winter meeting as well and use all the other events on weekends during summer to do al little offroading :D

You could perhaps get custom made items here:

4x4 custom cars
Pidrman + Kurz GbR
Stetten 31
74586 Frankenhardt
tel. 0049-7959-924896
email service@4x4customcars.de

Doesn´t seem to have any company who produces them especially for Rocky.
Have seen that in an Suzuki-Forum they tried to use Toyo-axles with lockers, maybe this does work with a Rocky as well?

Sorry, didn´t find any more information up to now.

OOOOps

Hope I understand your Question

I think tires are 33 something, the springs are above the axles, whether he has a locker or not I can´t say, he does not appear very often in our Forum! Some modification are done but not as many as ist looks like. Most of it is original.

But the car really does look mean :D

And the other Rockys look like his babies!

That'd be great :D :D
But all the suggestions so far are over a full days driving for us south ozieans.

What about meeting in the corner... Of the three states. NSW,VIC,SA
That'd be fair... ;)
I do actually know a good spot on the river there.

Cheers

Yeah, we could go and get bogged on the salt flats :P .

Gotta be sumwhere where there's going to be some wheeling (we dont want to encourage the rep off 'softraders' by meeting in a macca's carpark :D ), and of course its not feasable that everyone right accross australia will be able to get there... Maybe 3 simultaneous meetups?? One for mexicans/SA's and surrounds, one for QLD/NSW and surrounds... and perth can have their own little one over yonder :D .

How far's Coffs from the boarder line?? Should be fairly half-wayish for sydney/wollongong/camberans, and canetoadians :?:

And i've only seen pics in the 4x4 montly mag about coffs, looks like fun

Theres plenty places to get bogged in corner country if it rains
In fact it's hard to find a place to not get bogged. Dunno bout the salt flats you mentioned. Havent seen any near where iv'e been around there.

I'd love to get to coff's but never get enough time off to get over to the east coast.
I'd need an absolute minimum of a week off to get there otherwise it wouldn't be worth it

Ahh well. Such is life.

Cheers.
