Oil Leak

Hey wat is the little pipe coming of the bottom of the fuel pump (i think but not sure) because it has no hose on it and i think it leaking oil everywhere.

It is the thing that the fuel line runs into before it goes to the carby.
Sorry for no bad description.

Ideas?

sure its oil? fuel pump shouldnt have oil coming out of it!
i replaced my fuel pump a while back.. cost about 100 bucks. easy job.

where is the pump located. The thing im talking about is situated at back of engine bay on rear lefthand side of the motor. Fuel lines run into the top of it an it has a pipe with no hose on it at the bottom and oil is comin out of it im sure of it.

Anyone know what im talking about.

Go here and get your self a copy of the Suzuki Workshop Manual:

Study up and see how everything works, then if your still stuck at least you'll know the name of the part you are having problems with and can ask the question here in detail.

Some after market fuel pumps had an extra unused pipe (I guess for use on other vehicles). It is usually not open unless drilled out.

Fuel pump is driven by the cam, and the cam runs in oil.
Oil probably not from the pipe, but not impossible.
Most likely a fuel pump gasket leak, gasket goo may be good enough.
Could be a rocker gasket, too.
Could just have come loose, 2 little bolts is all.
And though unlikely, it could be a head gasket, I hope not.

Most zooks should have 3 lines on the fuel pump. 1 from tank, 1 returns unused fuel back to tank, and 1 feeds the carby.

If you remove fuel pump, there is a small rod that slides out of the hole, 5 minutes after you stop looking. It connects fuel pump to cam, and won't work without it (found out the hard way

)

well from what i can tell it is coming from the pipe. The oil is on the fuel lines that go to the fuel pump and drips all the way down onto my unijoint/diff etc. When i had a look where it was coming from it ws from the pipe on the bottom/back of the fuel pump (has 90 degree elbow.)

From what i can tell i have the inlet, outlet and return on the pump but wat is this other pipe. Should there be a hose on this.

If you cannot understand what i am talking about i will take a pic to identify what i am talking about.

Also its not rocker cover and i have had the rad checked for co2 which showed up negative and also while on the scope getting timing sorted it showed that all cyliders were within 10 psi of each other so head gasket should be ok.

Pretty certain its from the unknown pipe

rear left of the engine bay when facing it or when in the car? Are you talking about the charcoal canister maybe? on the firewall, up high on passenger side?

New fuel pump. The internal seal has failed, allowing oil that lubricates the mechanism in the pump to leak out. Some fuel pumps have the little fitting your are refering too, some dont. My old one did, but my new one doesnt.

This is the pipe the oil ic coming out of. What is this pipe and should it have a hose on it?

I will replace the pump but want to know what the go is with this pipe.

As lay80n said, it indeed the fuel pump on its way out, and will need to be replaced. mine did this, and geez, did it start quickly.

Yea knew this would be the case. Sorry dont quite understand what u mean by it starting quickly. What like after u replaced it it fired up quick or the oil pissed out of this pipe quickly?

Fuel pump internal seal is going. When they start to go, they go quick, and end up spewing oil out that little pipe. Five minute job to change pump. As Chris said, make sure you dont loose the pump push rod, as it always falls out just after you look away.

Thanks for the help guys its much appreciated.
Would the perishing seal be causing my car to run rough at idle or even effect fuel delivery. ( HAve to drive 2 hrs to get the car home)
