hey guys i am thinking about changing my gq 4.2 carbie dual fuel with a near new 4.5 gu engine!! just wondering weather it would be worth doing cause i can get the motor cheap??

what do people think about the 4.5 against the 4.2??

If it comes with the wiring harness and computer, why not? Be aware you'll have to make a few modifications to the lpg system to get that working again.

DD if you go down that path...can you make a picture file about what you endured for the swap....I like the idea on this swap as being efi it allows for SGI setup to piggy back off the existing efi. SGI doesn't work in carby models.

yea the motor comes with with loom computer and auto and transfer!! his gunna install it 4 me 4 next 2 nothing!! the only thing is my motor was rebuild about 40000 ago so how much do reckon i would get 4 that with the gearbox 5 speed?? this another motor only has 6000 on it

was it rebuild though!! am looking at selling mine with 5 speed gearbox heavy duty clutch and full gas set up!! motor is only 40 thousand old

Nope it wasnt but theres dozens of these donks layin round.. they are not exactly highly sort after..


so what do you think its worth?
