the name vit or vitara does not seem to go too well with: 31", 15x8, big neg offset etc.

you can fit 31"s on easy, you will lose a lot of turning ability. which mean you can only drive straight ahead. this is because of the front guards and the floor well/firewall of sorts.

my mate had a 3" BL, but couldn't run 31"s on properly. he now has 3" sus and the 3" BL and runs the 31"s no probs.

the problem being, the rear of the front guards does not allow enough room for anythbing bigger than a 235. but, with a little trimming of the outer guard, you should be ok on flat roads. with a 30, you will rub on the foot well when steering and one front tyre compressing up.

the problem is the neg offset wheel. anything more neg than stock rims greatly increases the scrub radious of the front tyres. so if you have big neg off set wheels, you will have a huge scrub radious, and you will find the outside edge of the tyres scrubbing on the rear of the guards and the front bumper maybe.

i had to bash the poo out of my foot wells to fit and clear 33"s.

IMHO, i would aim to fit 31"s on a stock vitara before lifting it at all. there is still the same amount of work needed. all that means is, you can run 31"s on a stock vit, with no lift, and then when you come around or can afford any lift, you will have no problems at all. so if you can clear 31"s with a stock vit, imagine if you had a 3+3 combo and how much more room there is. this is how i did mine.

i just dug up some old pic of my vit.

this is my vit 10 mins after i put some 31" with 15x8's on my vit. see how close the rear of the front tyre is to the guard. this is where you need to chop.

this is a bog stock vit running only 235's.

this was the end of the day after i did a 3" BL. i was still running 235's

this is after i did the cutting and trimming and bashing. i was able to run 31"s easily with NO suspension or body lift at all.

this is 10mins after i fitted new 31"s. this is with a 3" body lift only.

i run a LWB vitara with 3" body lift and 3" suspention lift combo, there was a little rubbing on the front bumper but a small section cut out fixed that.

I put some 7.50-16's (31" -32") on with a 3" suspension lift and no trimming.

narrow tyre narrow rim combo will work.

sierra wide track rim off set in a 7" rim would probably work well. NT and vit rims have too much pos offset.
