I have been reading this forum for some time now and finally thought I would register as it seems to be the best i have read thus far.
I have a MK Triton and am looking at increasing the power slightly to assist with towing and everything else aswell for that matter
I am looking at fitting an aftermarket exhaust maybe with extractors and a unichip but am after any other suggestions people might have or experiences people have had with the unichip and or exhaust upgrade???
I have also been considering fitting twin thermo fans on the engine side and a single on the air con condensor so that i dont have to stuff around with moving my radiator after the body lift, has anyone fitted thermos before and did they keep the engine cool in heavy sand work?

Not sure in the sand, but i guess my thermo would keep it cool. Mine is only a 14inch single and so far it working well in heavy traffic. Time will tell when the hotter weather comes. As the fan spins like the engine is revving, when idling at the lights, you can see the temp gauge go down, so i reckon it'll be right till i get my aluminium radiator.
You can fit extractors without any mods to efi, you could even fit a different air cleaner, though the latter wont do that much.

I don't know about the Triton, but I didn't need to relocate the Paj radiator after a 2" body lift. Hit some pretty soft sand in hot weather, under bonnet got hot enough to shut down my dual battery controller, but the temp gauge never moved.
In my experience, Mitsubishi make very good cooling systems - certainly better than anything I've experienced from GM. If you're already having cooling problems in sand I'd suspect a fault somewhere - starting with your fan hub.

I know not nearly as hot over here but long climbs off road mine has never budged on the gauge. Sometimes I wonder if it is connected to anything! This was a long climb (good 7 - 8 minutes off road) - wouldnt climb in 2nd low, It still never went above half.
If cleaning the rad out get it taken to a specilist and have the top and bottom taken off it and cleaned out - it's amazing how effective a 30 or 40% blocked radiator can be - until its that couple of degrees higher.
