$100 max for the tools from a auto tool shop. and about 20 mins depending on the motor to check them.

have to check your manual to see what pressures for your motor.

I got quoted $200 dollars today, to get a shop to do it. He reckons that it would take 2- 3 hours to do. I Guess i might be getting ripped.

Petrol or diesel. Petrol is easy and tools are cheap, diesel is more expensive due to more expensive gauge needed from higher perssures(thats if you thinking of gettin the gauge and doing it youreself). As for gettint mechanic to do it, 2-3 hours is crazy, bout 30 min to do, depending on motor. Specs will also depend on motor too.

Depending on what they have to remove to access the glow plug holes (where the pressure gauge conetor is inserted) this will affect labour. But 2-3 hours still seems excessive.
