Which 1.3 oil pickup for 1.6 conversion.

Post by nicbeer »

Hey,

Wondering which 1.3 oil pickup to use for doing a 1.6 16v efi conversion into a sierra. I know there is a 1324 and a 1298 one for this. I beleive they are different sizes.

Wondering which is easist to use and modding the 1.3 sump.

Thanks

Nic

makes no difference bud. you will need to cut the support brace from the oil pickup and reweld it back on in a different position. you will also need to mod the splashpan in the sump to suit. be carefull if your efi has the bearing support rails, it will feel like the sump wont go on at all but gently bash the splashpan down with a hammer, do not cut it out totally.

thanks mark. so going by the pan if i trim a little bit of the splash pan and use hammer on the rest should be good? If i dont have the bearing support rails is this still necessary?

With the oil pickup, are you saying u do not need to get a 1.3 one? Just cut support and move/bend the existing one?
