80 series tail shaft

Hi all I bent my tail shaft up Appin climbing the rocks on the weekend and found one to replace it, but its out of a manual deisel dx model and my is a petrol auto gxl will it fit or are they a different length?

I was under the impression they are a longer tailshaft in the pov packs

Povs run a longer shaft by 60mm....i have a auto one...if swapping gets you on the road, thats fine with me.

Auto one from memory is 90mm shorter than the manual so the makes it 150mm shorter than the DX shaft. You need to get the right shaft of have it retubed.

Yup.. pov pack part time 4wd's had a longer shaft..
