HELP SWB VITARA

Post by OVERKILL ENG »

Can anyone tell me what the wheelbase for a SWB Vitara is please.
Just thinking about a winch vehicle and weighing up the options between a long wheelbase ZOOK or a VITARA.
Thanks in advance.

My manual doesnt tell me - see what I can find or else I tell you waht my tapemesure says tomorrow.....

If yuo plan major mods anyway then the Vitara's major limitations (front axle and gearing) arne't limitations anymore.....

Cmon, you know you want another project.

That works out to be about 89 inches.
If I can stresh the wheelbase to 95-100 inches I would prefer to use the Vit over the Sierra.
The planning has begun.

Convert the 2 door to a tray, or put 2 door cab on LWB--- you will need to modify 4 of 8 studs.

As a bonus you get EFI engine.... as a downside you get 4.6 diffs.......

but that's cooll if you sierra t/case it :D

Thats cool, just waiting on the videos......

My mate with the rocsta did 4/6 of the MU 2 of 6 and the frontier LWB V6 0/6 LOL

The rocsta did good today. Well done Paul.

The Rocsta and the MU both got mega mega air on the first climb out of the creek from the creek - cant wait to see botht them on bigscreen not camera replay.

That 2 1/4" pipe I put on the Vit sounds really good when Im flinging the mud at 6000 rpm..... Should sound nice in surround sound.....

:D

Yeah well if the suspension is gonna be ditched then it doesnt really matter at all does it..... all new mounting points and all that.

Love_mud and I have discussed his sick Vitara plans in the past - wonder how close you'll end up to that spec. I know for sure it's not gonnas stay stock long so can't wit to see the results.

I know he always liked the supercharged GV V6 option on a 100 inch wheelbase (LWB cut to single cab ute).

The he started talking about a Turbo rotary SWB ute... the man has gone mad I tell ya.....

The plan so far are as follows.
Coils all round(obvious)
Three link in rear but try and move diff back 5-6 inches.
Five link in the front with one of our Vit/dana diffs and push diff forward 4-5 inches.
Turbo'ed Vit motor
35 inch MTR's
I have to get hold of a shorty and do some measuring to make sure it will all fit.
Long wheel base sierra's are hard to get and a Vitara would be more comfortable especially in winch events and if all goes well the outback challenge.

I PM'ed him that offer then remembered I'm in Brissy and he's in Sydney..... so I had to recall it. Ooops!

Don't think one day would help since it's 1000ks to get there.

Cool there's your token tape measure victim....

If you need any measurements just post and I'll send you an answer.
