Hi all
Anyone know the towing capacity of a 92 Vit 1600 injected 4 door.
I would like to tow a boat/trailer that weighs 700Kg, would this need to be braked?, the towbar fitted at the moment is rated at 1000KG and a tounge weight of 70KG, I can get a heavy duty bar if necessary. I estimate the ball weight of the trailer to be around 45 Kilo.
Cheers

Towing Capacity
First thing you might want to do is check the legislation in your area. I'm pretty sure that in south australia they have changed it to <500Kgs requires trailer brakes. Besides....it's the first thing I'd do for a light car carrying a heavy load. Especially if you need to stop in a hurry.

Check the regulations first before you change anything. Maks sure what your want to tow is legal first on a Vit. Then work it out from there if you require brakes ETC. If your are stuck with checking info, PM me as i can access some of the regs for you.
