Hey all,
Today I fitted a Redarc isolator thingy SBI12. Pretty easy as I already had a dual battery setup but with one of those large rotary switch things. The batterys were conected to the switch whith some heavy cable, like what runs to the starter motor. This is good but a pain to work with!
The instructions with the redarc state I should use a 100 maxi fuse in line with each battery + terminal but I cant find a fuse holder that would fit on my cables. What do you guys recomend? Does it realy need to be fused? The previous switch was not.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Fuses on a dual battery setup
Moderator: -Scott-
I dont bother fitting fuses when I do dual battery fitments. If you run the cable in such a way that it wont be running on anything that can cut through the insulation, it will be fine. The same goes for the isolator, if you mount it where nothing is going to touch it,it will also be fine.
Honestly if something bad enough happens(a crash?) to cause the cable to be shorted, I really dont think a fuse is going to help.
Thats my thoughts.

I had my dual batteries done by ARB cos I was too lazy to do it myself... not a single fuse in sight. Not something I'm entirely happy with considering the engine bay has burnt out once already... avoid that one, it sux!!!
You could try one of these:
