MK Automatic hubs

Post by Hoppy11 »

I have a question about MK automatic hubs, i know that the hubs are engaged when the 4wd is selected and the vehicle is moved forward and when 2wd is selected and the vehicle is reversed the hubs unlock, the question is, do the hubs still unlock if the transfer is still in 4wd and the vehicle is reversed??, meaning no 4wd at all in reverse.
Cheers

only in 2wd will the hubs unlock, but make sure there are unlocked or they wont last long.

The hubs engage when the vehicle is moved forward in 4wd (you can hear them clicking in), they will disengage when the vehicle is reversed in 2wd (again, you can hear them clicking out), but because we are still finishing the build on this vehicle, it has not been tested offroad, but i reversed it the other day after being in 4wd, with the transfer in 4wd and i heard the hubs clicking, which i assumed was unlocking the hubs, i repeted this a few times, engaging the hubs by moving forward and then reversing in both 4wd and 2wd, the sound of the hubs clicking was there in both 2wd and 4wd, although the 4wd light on the dash was on when i reversed in 4wd, a real test is on the cards i say, just thought i would ask the question
