is a vitara auto a trimatic and does it have gear rdeuction??

Yes - it is a trimatic - i presume with a different bell housing.

If you actually mean gear reduction - then yes - 1st gear is lower (high numerically than 1:1) i.e. it's 3:1 approx. But if you mean does it have overdrive - then no... 3rd gear is 1:1.

greg :cool: I believe the box in question my be your old box I brought it from cruzer its a trimatic thats behind a 202 but with something attached to the rear, that cruzer said is from a gear reduction from a vatara :? ??? and was it your old buggy I brought from cruzer ???

Could be the transfercase? as these are attached to the back of the case in a vitara.

I'll pretend ;) you didn't think I was that dumb :? no its in between auto and transfer bolted to the holden version trimatic about 150mm long :? greg will know as i think it was his originally ;)
