Daihatsu wrecking yard.
Just thought I would post a pic of my front yard this morning.
The gearbox/transfer case on the right was in my F75, but the box threw a bearing on the way back from Townsville Easter Monday, which punched a hole in the back of the bellhousing. The gearbox/transfer case out of the grey F70, which I bought on Wednesday, on the left is going into mine as a replacement. I had thoughts of doing up the F70 for my daughter, but its obviously been used as a fishermans vehicle, as it has heaps of rust, especially in the chassis. So, some of those parts may well be for sale shortly, to help offset the purchase price for the F70, which was $1000. In reality, it drove beautifully back from Rockhampton, with mostly wind noise, and tyre noise from the Goodyear Wranglers.
And in case anyone wonders, "What do his neighbours think?" I couldnt give a rats @rse, as she is a complete and utter waste of time, space, and genes. And I hope the pungent odour of diff oil permeates her house for weeks to come.

Mud makes excellent toothpaste.
So a bit of an update. The Blue grey F70 has been cut behind the B pillar, to be made into a ute. The green F70, if it was in the pic, has been stripped off its chassis, and the body now stands on its rear end against the fence, to provide panel pieces for the ute project. This project is now going to my youngest daughter, who is 16 at the moment. That allows me a bit more time to work on it. So, eldest daughter is getting a bit impatient for a car, even though she is still on her L plates, so, a couple of weeks ago, I spied an F80 for sale out of town. After a couple of visits to check it out, I haggled the $1000 asking price down to $750. It runs well, new exhaust, pretty good tyres. A little bit of rust to contend with, mainly rain gutters and rear mudguards. So hopefully, a few weekends work will see it fixed up for her. And its back to school for me, as I havent ever worked on the 3Y motor.
I think this makes Rocky #6 for me, or is it #7.
