Well lets look at it this way...
04 sweltering ungodly heat...
05 i believe was verrrry wet and muddy.
06??? fires?? earthquakes?? snow?? lightning??

atleast you wont be in danger the river is right in the camping area, and is worth a swim if its still really hot.

For those guys travelling down from Brisbane be aware that the Putty Road has been closed due to Bush fires. So if your heading that way it may be worth contacting someone to find out if its still closed before you get there.

See you all Sat Night.

Woody + Fires

Post by RUFF GQ »

As for the fires, one fire is at Lithgow. Currently the Darling Hurst Causeway is closed. ( the road that links lithgow to katoomba). Bells Line Of Road is also closed from Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens to The Darling Hurst Causeway. Fire is currently trickling down the valley and is at Mt Tomah, Approx 20k's from Bilpin.
Fire at Putty is at Howes Valley. As far as i know the road will be shut. Fire is heading down towards Woody but shouldn't be there by Sunday.
Also take note that there will be Ferry and Bridge Closures due to the Bridge To Bridge Race held from Berowra Waters To Windsor Bridge. This race is also on the same day as Woody. I suggest ya'll try get there by Saturday afternoon to avoid Traffic. The location of woody is also one of the best viewing spots for the Bridge race so Dargle will be packed. Hope this helps.
