nissan gq steering problem
The answer is yes
You can adjust the steering box to tighten it up but don't ask me how, someone else did mine for me.

steering wheel free play
you need to adjust the steering box now what you have to do is on the right hand chasis rail under the bonnet you will see the steering box on top of it there will be a nut 19mm i think thats of the top of my head through the middle of the nut there will be either a flat head bolt or allen key bolt what you need to do is crack that nut whilst holding the bolt in the middle completly still once cracked you tighten the middle bolt clock wise of course holding the nut still tighten bolt easily until it stops i said easily if you over do it you will damage things now tighten the locking nut back up holding the middle bolt still be careful not to move the middle bolt because if you do it will either loosen because you turned it back wards while tightening the lock nut or it will turn with the lock nut damaging your box very easy job to do just don't tighten the middle bolt F.T and you will be fine once thats done check the play in the steering wheel if it is still really losse do the procedere once more and tighten the bolt just an 8th of a turn tighter only do this once if your steering wheel doesn't return to centre after coming out a corner its too tight lossen it off a fraction if there is still plenty of play after that time to check all your bushes ball joints then possibly reco your box
