Hi There,
I am a new first-time Pajero owner (albeit that my father has an NL 2.8 LWB) and have recently bought a 1993 2.5 TDI SWB (it is NH or NJ..not sure) import from Japan. What fun this Pajero is- has some serious cool-factor to it even tho it is not the most practical! I live in Zimbabwe and have really enjoyed educating myself from this forum on these mitsu's!
A question for the experts- my vehicle has the adjustable suspension (s,m,h) which appears to be a gimmick altho fascinating,(?) and a significant difference can be felt between settings.. how do these shocks work and change their settings? Are they durable or will a few months of Zim roads put these shocks out to pasture and require a regular shock replacement?? Are they only good for the biliiard table-smooth jap roads?
Secondly - do these engines have timing chains or timing belts? What intervals do these need to be changed at? My car has 88000km on it (appears genuine) and I have bought it based on photos while it was on the water to Africa (it was cheap!) so know nothing about service history..
Thanks!
ZimMark
