The all blue shorty had a bit of trip over in a Pajero Challenge some years ago.

It had the Icelander Flares on it. Danielle now has a GU with Portals on it.

To post pics. Resize them to a nice size 600x??? is a good start. I use Irfanview. As its easy to resize and its freee off the net. Once you open a pic in it. Just hit 'CTR R' and type in 600 and it will fix up the other figure. The s for save.

Then goto to a hosting site such as Photobucket. Which is free also, just need to register. Upload pics.
Then when the pics are uploaded. They will have a box with the pic in it. Then under it will be some weblinks for it. Just copy the one that says [IMG] in the web link box. And paste it into a new thread.

re: portal axle

Post by Nelso »

Are the portal axles getting closer to being ready to sell yet? The last thing I was told was to keep an eye on the website for updates but there hasn't been any regarding availability or a ball park figure of the price yet?

They do look awesome. I just hope they are within reach of my budget.

Also, where did the flairs come from on the GQ? and how wide are they?

The flares are Icelander flares, and you can purchase them from Iceland like I did! Pretty pricey though. Over $2000.00 for a set of 2!
I would not recommend for serious 4WDriving as they are very strong and can do a bit of panel damage, eg, If you lean up against a bank. Ouch!
I don't know if anyone is bringing them in here in Aus. I got them direct from Iceland a few years ago.
The Portals are currently getting Engineered on two of our vehicles.
Once they are fully ADR approved, we will then be selling to the public.
We invisage Jan / Feb 2007.
They are "drop axles". Lift the diff up 4 inches and widen the wheel track 100 mm each side.
They are only available for GU. Next year we will realease Toyota L/C.
Were working on the web site to upload all this info including prices. This will happen soon.

Yep, fully legal!
For any pricing on complete portal diffs give marks 4wd a call. You wont need any lift kits and it drives like factory. There are optional extras on top of that as well.

It all depends on the demand.
At this stage only GU then Toyota next year.
Ball park figure for complete front & rear, end to end ready to bolt on and drive away will be around the 15K mark. There is a page full of optional extra's as well. eg, front and rear lockers fitted, twin brake callipers etc etc etc.

At this stage it will most likely be a change over with your diffs or drive in drive out. You will send your diffs so we can strip them, replace all bearings etc (make them like new) strengthen the diffs and fit the portal housings.
If you want more information, speak to the sales guys.
