Yes it is the 3" kit the rear A arm and Rose joint set up is great wicked flex.
Not sure of legalities in QLD Im in NT, but the kit is bloody awesome, I couldnt see why it wouldnt be the gear is all double the strenth of original gear. best see your local Motor transport authority on that one.
Cost I believe is just Short of $1900 including freight. Im pretty sure its worth it in the end instead of wasting time trying to find different bits that dont mesh well together

Having had one of these kits in my old Vitara i can say they do work fairly well for a bolt on job.
The only thing they don't do is support the front diff any better than factory. You really should look at having the front diff mounts braced by way of having alloy gussets welded to the housing.
Maybe even a roctoy style ring around the 3rd member braced back to the chassis?????
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
Here is something I recommend doing with the 3" Calmini kit.

suzukiboy i c that u r in QLD.
Is the kit legal in qld.and does it require a mod plate?
or is it only illegal if u get caught?
Also please excuse my ignorance
A. What is the reason for modding the mount?
B. is this part of a diff guard?
If so does it provide any extra strength to the diff housing at all?
Cos i hav heard of people cracking there rear diif housing tube.

Ok i have just found this in the vehicle modifications booklet i downloaded a little while ago.
"The welding, chrome plating, heating or bending of
axles, suspension or steering components, as a method
of repair or alteration, is not permitted."
So does this mean this kit is illegal or can it be passed with a mod plate.
I am only worried as it will be a daily and it will have my kids in it every now and nen + i hav had 3 accidents ALL NOT my fault but all the other parties had no insurance. So i want to be sure if i do something to my vit and then be envolved in a crash/accident. that my insurance company cant say "you have made an illegal modifaction so your insurance is now void".

No mod plates for suspension (was told that by Department of transport).
Raising of a vehicle is not as straight forward as saying this measurement is legal and this measurement is illegal.
A lot of other factors to consider.
Just read the NATIONAL CODE OF PRACTICE for LIGHT VEHICLE CONSTRUCTION and MODIFICATION.
Did that answer your question.
I found the old shock brackets were hitting the back of the new shocks and damaging them.
I hammered out the bracket and ground it down but still hit.
The diff guard is also a Calmini item, don't think it would give much extra strength to the diff.
Just take some of the beating off road.

Anyone feel free to correct me, but that refers to repairs/mods that would make the part acceptable to failure because of the process of welding/bending, etc.

This is the brochure i got it from
http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/LTAS ... an05v2.pdf
i can also pay for a copy of the code at GOPRINT.
U maybe right about" make the part acceptable to failure '
This could be there reason but it does not say it.

I notice that you have correct camber on your vit. i've got a problem with positive camber. now i did read in the instructions that it compensates for a front bullbar which i don't have but i wouldn't have thought it would make so much difference to the camber? Plus it aslo says on the website that they are extended A arms for this purpose and mine seemed to be the same length as the originals???suzukiboy wrote:

I think you will have problems with the camber without a bulbar, you will have to cut the springs to get the camber right.
I still put a set of camber pins in mine to fix the camber.
I never put the old control arms up against the Calmini one's, but I am sure I have pics of them beside the standard ones and they looked longer.

I can't find the PDF file on the web.
This site has a link to the doc but can't see the PDF download.

Pity you're so far away as I have a bar and winch i'm going to be selling.EU4RIA wrote:Well i plan on putting a Bullbar on but have to find one first. So choppin isn't an option plus its illegal.
And you have confused me with the camber pins??? My Vit only has a round hole in which the bolts locate so wouldn't allow any adjustment am i missing something or have you had yours modded?
The camber bolts will work fine for you, they just replace one of your existing bolts with a cam bolt. I got mine from Pedders. Even with the weight of the bar and winch and a little wear on the springs I still needed one side adjusting, the other was just ok.

Nothing is ever too far away for the right price. I've been seacrhin for a while now and have almost given up hope. Sikid01 had found one for me but it never got sent so got my hopes up and then got the shits in the end.cj wrote: Pity you're so far away as I have a bar and winch i'm going to be selling.

What sort of bar is it?
A good suspension shop can fix the camber without camber pins by elongating the holes.
Camber pins will give you more adjustment.
