Getting a TX4400 fitted to my pajero next week. But the alloy bar does not have a tab for the antenna. What do you guys think of getting a tab welded on verses using a stainless steel bracket?

Tab or Bracked for UHF antenna mount on BB

if you can get one welded on for less than a bracket is worth, id say go for it! with an alloy welded one you cant go wrong as with a bolt on one they will eventualy rust and suck big time! go the welded tab dude! but see if you can get them to weld one on the oppiste side at an even space just incase you want to move it or put a HF in aswell!

rubbish! i bet if they did alloy welding at ARB they wouldnt say that! ive had tabs welded on my bar before and they are heaps tuffer than a bracket and no mater what bracket you get eventualy they do get all scummy and loose the plot weather it be the bolts or the crap between the bracket and the bar! simply ask ARB if brackets are better then why dont they leave all the tabs off there bullbars and sell all there bullbars with brackets for there arials and lights?Sailfish wrote:ARB guys are saying bracket will be better. They say the tab would be aluminum and can bend and break easier than the SS bracket. Thoughts on that??
