King Springs Height?

Post by rosie »

Gday all, I've ordered a set of "Raised" King Spring coils and was wondering how much height I can expect to gain on my LWB Vitara.

Also, will I have to have the wheels allighned strait away or can I drive the car for a short while without one?

Thanks, Ben

Mine scrubed the tyres out pretty bad after putting old man emu in the front, needed camber bolts too. I'd get it aligned asap after the lift.

so you are buying springs without actually knowing what sort of lift they will give?

What about your shock lengths or anything else that might be affected by the added height? Do you know if that lift is going to be legal, will it effect your insurance etc?

How can anyone buy and get installed something that they don't know all the details for? Why did order them if you don't know what they are?

Sounds like normal practice to me  Most seem to buy on price and then deal with the consequences.

Mate, I got the springs at cost price and bought the raised height. I am aware that my car will be borderline illegal but that doesn't phase me. In the King Springs book it said between 20mm-30mm can be expected but Wilkingsons told me to expect 40mm in height gain.

It doesn't worry me too much as I had to buy new springs anyway so I went raised for the same price. The front struts will be fine but the rear shocks will be replaced.

I was just asking for people who had owned them to tell me how much higher they made the vehicle. I had looked over and got around all the other consequinces.

Thanks for the feedback already, Ben
