GQ Tie rod ends
GQ Tie rod ends
I posted this on 4WD Monthly as well but:
Well no auto parts store seems to be able to help me with locating the right tie rod ends for my GQ.
It is a 1995 but has what i believe are the early GQ Tie rod ends - the ones with female threads and a locking clamp thing built into the thread.
I have had 2 different Tie rod ends sent out to my local Repco to have a look at and both times they've been the late GQ/GU ones - with the large Male thread on the end of them. The first time the bloke ordered the one for pre 1992 (i think - not 100% sure of the date he said but was early 90's) and the second one was the later type - but both were the same - different part numbers yet both RH Tie rod ends - apparently there isn't even a LH one listed by the manufacturers.
Is anyone able to help me source L & R Tie rod ends please? - without resorting to nissans inflamed prices that is.
cheers

Gq tie rod ends
The ones you have shown i think are off a Ti model. A mate of mine gets his from Autobarn L&R hand, I think off the top of my head the price was
60 bucks each. The local manager from Autobarn gets them from a company called Roadsafe. I could get the part numbers if u wanted?
cheers joe

tie rod ends
Sure hope there the right ones mate, I paid about 30 bucks each for my ones and they were male threads.
Any idea what the thread sizes would be for the ends of the control arms to suit the female type tie rod ends ( the rod safe one pictured early on in this thread ). So I can get my mate to turn some up on his lathe.
Thanks
Thanks
Anything is possible, it just comes down to time and money.
