Does she get more than warm ?

Post by armadillo »

Hi all,

this is my first post, I have allways been a LR Santana Series man, however for many reasons I got myself a HDJ80 1993 4200TD 12 V Auto. And since I am a bit of a desert freak I'm getting the HDJ80 ready for my next trip.

The HDJ80 comes with 200.000 Km on the clock, 166 lts extra tank, +4 yellow springs, kony heavy track, engine winch, 265/75 x 16 BFG AT.

I wonder if you guys can give some advise with this. Since I know nothing about the HDJ80 or LC in general I'd like to know your opinion about the things I got to check or improve for a Sahara trip.

Among other things: Does the Automatic Transmision get too hot under heavy conditions?

Thanks a lot in advance !

Anybody out there?

Sorry probably I wasn't clear enough,

my question is if you guys know if the Automatic Transmission gets too hot under heavy loads-sand-desert conditions. And If something can be done about that.

I post it here in an Australian forum cos I guess you guys got experience with hdj 80 auto in desert conditions.

cheers !
