New Grand Vitara ... Good 4bie?

Post by Coatesy »

Hello All,

I'm thinking of buying on of the new model Grand Vitara 2.7 V6 4bies ...

Does anyone know any pro's and cons to this vehicle??

I'm looking at adding an ARB Tow Pack and an ARB 2 inch lift kit ...

Will this car be capable off road ... and is there anything I should be aware of??

Thanks.

I beleive the new ones are IFS and IRS.

Any reason on going the latest one and not the one before using same motor i beleive.

Depends on where u want to take it and what you want to do with it.

I reckon they'd perform ok on the beach and odd fire trail. How serious would you want it to perform? There's always warranty if you break something

the only bad thing i have know of is lack of traction control or lsd, it would have come close to winning 4b of the yaer if it had one of these!
but while you have traction u will be fine and a lift is a must!

I would get one but i will need the XL7 for the 7 seats, third child due in feb, so the dog will loose his seat!

Have had ours about 6 months. Good for day to day with a bit of beach work and light 4wd. As said before without lsd and minimal wheel travel, traction can be a problem. Motor is fairly revvy and not much torque so along with fairly tall gearing towing might be an issue. Overall am happy and it does what we need it to.
