Anyone know how to adjust the timing on a 3F cruiser motor.

What part dont you know. I was fiddeling with the old mans troopy 3f last week.
To start. Find TDC on N01 cyl. I found it by looking for the timing mark on the fly wheel. You have to remove (or loosen and rotote) a small inspection plate that covers the timing hole on the bell housing on the drivers side. Once rotated you can see the fly wheel edge. Turn motor till you see a dimple in the flywheel and the dizzy rotor is lined up with no:1 on the rotor cap.
This gives you a ball park. Then once the timing mark on the flywheel is lined up you rotate the dizzy clock wise (Pretty sure its clck wise anyway) till you see a spark on the points (with ignition on).
This will be close enough for the motor to start. The using a timing light and listening to the motor and some trial and error, I got the 3f running fine. If it pings under load, retard it till it stops.
Assuming off course the points and every thing else is OK.
Well thats how a electrician does it anyway. :D I did the above as we replaced the whole dizzy as the old one had too much play in the shaft.
