yeah, shortened from the scout specs by 70 mm, still means theres only 1 inch of tyre under each guard. ( 1780 wide overall with q78's, 2300 wheelbase)
Cutting and rotating the knuckles was a PITA, If i had to do it again i'd just cut the tubes.
Haven't got any new photos, lots of triming of the body and a few new mounts- in the photos the front shocks were bottoming out and the rear tyres were hard up against the body.
Had to add a fair bit to the front shock towers to get them working properly. They're now 270mm above the top of the chassis at 70 degrees.

Hey Gutless,

What's the setup at the back there? I can't quite see if it's coiled, quartered, or shocks and control arms...

Do tell :)

Thanks

it has coilovers, lower trailing arms and a 3 link with a ball mount ontop of the diff. The front end is just rangie coils and 80 ser ATM, but I will be moving to coilovers like the rear in about 6 months. I can get more travel from the rear if i notch the chasis rails above the diffs. They hit ATM. Also have some clearance issues when on uptravel. The tyres wrap up above the rails and hit the fuel tank  Still haven't used all of the 9012 travel yet

first flex attempts with the new rubber. got loads of rubbing but that'll be fixed with suspension upgrades.

note: that's stock springs and stock shocks.

Sweet. Looks like a heap of travel back there...

Perhaps you could turn your tank 90degrees so that it is mounted longways? Or i guess the other way to do it is to increase your track width at the back to avoid it (as per what Grimbo has done recently by changing to widetrack diffs with heavily offset rims)...

I haven't seen any close up photos of it, but apparently the blue coiler from nsw that everyone seems to know of has had the chassis notched in all the right places to get the most travel out of it's setup too. There's a photo of it here:

Already got bundera diffs dude. I don't really want to go any wider, or it will lose its suzuki characteristics.....small and agile

I understand completely :)

What's the offset on your rims then? Perhaps you can just offset them or add in some wheel spacers to keep the tyres off the fuel tank?

bahahahaa, you must be Grimace. it may be a drover but gets more than 2" of travel. unlike a Grimace IFS piece of junk.

FYI limp noodle, it's manufactured by suzuki. :finger:
can take a photo of the model plate in the engine bay if you like.

Big Steve, where did you take this happy snap? If it was up at Mt Dis there is a great little spot there for crossing your car up on - sort of like a drain where you are almost guaranteed to get diagonally opposite wheels off the ground at the same time - great to test out full droop / compression :)

Hey Gutless,

How about filling us all in about your trailing arms and coilover setup? Did you get the coilovers built around the 9012's?
Where are your trailing arms connected too?
Any good shots of the ball mount on top of the diff?

thanks
