300Tdi Fuel Leak

Post by SteveC »

Hi All
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
I have a diesel fuel leak that seems to be comming from the rear of the engine and dripping down at the join of the engine and auto.
It is deffinately fuel and not engin or trany oil, as it is clear.
Also seems to be fuel leaking down the passenger's side of the block, from front to back.
This is strange as there is only the inlet and turbo on that side.
Can anyone shed some light as to where this may be leaking from?
Thanks
Steve

Can't help with passenger side.

Things to check on drivers side include, fuel inlet line to lift pump, and pipes on top of lift pump can crack.

Return lines from injectors.

If the diaphram in the lift pump fails, fuel leaks into the engine crankcase.
